You know…everyone has those days when you don’t know what to eat. That’s what happened to us one day when we were in Richmond running errands.

We weren’t expecting much from this place except to fill up our stomachs to go to an event later. This place definitely accomplished that.

We ordered the two item set menu: basa (fish fillet) and pork chop with spaghetti, and the beef rib-eye steak. This came with drinks, soups of the day, and a small dessert (icecream). I can’t really get technical with this food because after all it’s Hong Kong comfort food. Let’s just set they met the standards of HK food. The soups were okay: tomato soup tasted like canned tomato soup, and the chowder was really creamy. The pork chop was tender and not greasy! (surprise). I personally loved the basa because it was fried - the way I love my fish fillet. The spaghetti and corn is basically what you can get at home. The steak was okay to me, but Beebs thought it was great especially for the price. When we ate here, the first place that came to mind to compare was Strike. For everything here, this was a lot better: value and taste.

If you’re looking for some quick, comfort food this is definitely the place to go. It opens late too! Oh and before I forget, some of the older ladies working there are so cute and sweet. They wanted to give us extra soup! This place really reminded me of Hong Kong..
