I have a confession: I only wanted to come here because the waffles ‘looked amazingg’. I didn’t hear or read any reviews before coming here (well, I looked up the address).

This place is hidden away near Robson and Denman in Downtown Vancouver. Beebs and I passed it before we realized that it was right beside McDonald’s. When I first entered, I was extremely shocked with the size of the place. It’s small - so small that I thought we wouldn’t be able to get a seat and there were only a few other people inside. 

We settled for the Bresilienne, since Beebs wanted to pass on this place so I ate most of it.  When I first saw the process of making the waffle, I was a little disappointed. I could’ve sworn they just heated the waffle up and placed bucket icecream on it. So my first bite I was expecting terribleness, but surprisingly, it was good. The caramel hardened a bit making the waffle a little crustier which I personally like. The center was still gooey and chewy - the perfect balance. I thought the waffles were great, especially since they weren’t overly sweet. However, I really didn’t like the icecream on top. I was on the fence about this, the waffles were good, but the topping wasn’t so great. I ended up giving this a 3/5 solely based on the waffle. I wish they invested in better icecream. For the price, I think I would pass on this waffle this time round. The food wasn’t awesome to justify the price. 

Overall, our little date at this dessert place wasn’t bad. I actually liked the quietness because it wasn’t crowded. And the servers were polite and not overwhelming so I have no complaints there. I really don’t know if I would recommend this place..but hey, note they really do have nice presentation that make the waffles LOOK delicious.
